Tour Plan
The "Go Tours Morocco Company" is the perfect choice for those looking to explore the beauty of the Atlas Mountains away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Our 3-day Atlas Mountains tour is led by experienced drivers and guides who will take you on a journey through stunning landscapes and picturesque views.
Starting from your hotel or riad, we'll head to Ait Bougmez Valley, also known as the Happy Valley due to its vibrant fields of apple trees, walnuts, and various vegetables. On the way, we'll make a stop at Damnate to explore the Tassaout Valley and the Mellah, which is the old Jewish city. We'll also visit the natural bridge of Imi-n-Ifri, a 200m high limestone bridge-like cave that formed over 180 million years ago.
During the tour, we'll stop for a delicious lunch with a local Berber family in Ait Bougmez and even visit dinosaur footprints along the way. You'll have plenty of opportunities to take breaks and capture pictures of the traditional Berber villages and stunning cliffs.
Once we arrive at the Happy Valley, we'll visit a collective store that was built by the Jewish community in the 16th century. We'll spend the night in a traditional guest house and enjoy a delicious Berber dinner. Trust us to show you an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Atlas Mountains.
Will get the view of second highest summit in morocco it is M’goun 4068 metres high, After that you will continue to reach Assif Mgoun which is the old village in central high Atlas, In the same area you will have 1 hour of walk in a valley to explore more Berber villages and kasbahs, then drive to beautiful Boutaghrare to see the fantastic authentic berber lifestyle, people, culture, archeticture in Morocco, walk in the valley of roses to discover this mysrtical land before we head to Kelaat Mgouna, famous for rosese, rosa d’amaskina, where the local tribe gather every year to celebrate the roses, opportunity to shop beauty crems and oils for skin, hair… Next drive to dades valley, you may visit a Berber family and spend sometime with locals, this is a great opportunity if you want to discover the real life, after we head to ou hotel situated in the Gorge of Dades. Overnight breakfast & dinner included.
We will meet our local guide at 9:00 am and set off to explore the medieval medina of Fes, a labyrinth of more than 9000 alleyways. We will mingle with the locals in these streets which are full of handicrafts being made by artisans using age old methods, vibrant colours and sounds. We will visit the tanneries, to watch the locals working with the skins of animals such as goat, camel and cow. We will get to enjoy wonderful panoramic views from the southern tower of Fes, visit a pottery co-operative where tiles and Moroccan mosaic are made, or you can take an optional dinner show with belly dancing to round off your tour of Fes.
We will leave Fes and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping for a short break in Ifran, the site of the first ski resort in Morocco. We will be surrounded by amazing scenery and landscapes of mountains and plains. We may get to see the species of native monkeys, known as Magot monkeys, living in the cedar woods of Azrou. We will stop for lunch in Midelt, a town that celebrates the festival of apples every year at the beginning of October. From Midelt we will travel to Errachidia, named after Prince Moulay Rachid, before driving through Ziz Valley to Arfoud, the gate of the Sahara, and on to Merzouga.
Arrival to the place where our camels wait for us to ride across the most beautiful dunes of Morocco, a climb to the highest dune is recommended to see one of the most beautiful sunsets of Morocco, arrive to the DESERT CAMP, You can also experience the local music as you listen to the rhythms of a Gnaoua and drums around fire. Night in a desert camp or outside under the satars.
Early in the morning, last chance to climb the dunes and watch the sun rise, climb the dunes, we head back to on camels toward the dunes line, hotel auberge, where you may have a room to shower and freshen up, and have breakfast, After we will leave Merzouga and head towards the oasis of Eljerf, where we can witness the ancient system of irrigation that is still used here. We will stop for photographs at Tinjedad, before having lunch in Toudra Gorge. We will enjoy a 20 minute walk between the cliffs and river in this beautiful 15 km valley with date palms, ending with a spectacular Gorge, mainly used for rock climbing and picnics. We will make our way to Dades Valley with its astonishing rock formation, created by erosion over millions of years. We will pass Rose Valley, the only place in Morocco where Damascus roses are harvested. Rose water and oil are extracted from the Damascus rose to use in the preparation of beauty treatments.
