Exploring Berber Villages and the Majestic Gorges of Mgoun
Overview
From the Bougmez Valley to the M’Goun Valley: a classic itinerary that allows you to discover the most beautiful villages of the Central Atlas and the fresh and impressive gorges of the M’Goun river… Starting from the famous “happy valley” of Bougmez, we cross the Tizi Aït Imi pass, which overlooks the mountain range with its breathtaking 360° view. After visiting the most remote villages of the Atlas, we reach the dizzying gorges of M’Goun for a playful route, walking with our feet in the water. Then, we encounter the southern part of the mountain with its magnificent pisé houses to conclude this beautiful traverse of the range.

Tour Plan
Arrival at the airport, welcome, and transfer to the hotel.
Departure by minibus to the Aït Bougmez Valley. 3 hours of walking with our muleteer team to reach the first bivouac at 2080m.
The Aït Imi pass (2905m) separates two peaks: Waougoulzat (3513m) and Ighil'N'IIgoudamene (3519m), offering a magnificent panorama. Descent to the bivouac (2235m).

Numerous small isolated villages are scattered along this stage. Bivouac at the confluence of two rivers.
5 hours and 30 minutes of walking.
The valley turns into a narrow gorge, only 2m wide, like a giant knife cut into a 600m-high wall.
6 hours of walking, with feet in the water.
From now on, we walk along irrigation canals, navigating through a labyrinth of terraced fields. We will meet the Aït M'gouna Berbers. Passing through the village of Tamgallouna before reaching our final bivouac.

In the morning, we discover kasbahs with slender towers overlooking orchards planted with fruit trees and rose bushes in a splendid region. Return by minibus to Marrakech, overnight stay at the hotel.
